This conversation was recorded live at ASU+GSV 2025 during the AI Show, where we caught up with Julie Kelleher, Market Development Lead at WorldQuant Learning, to talk about how their new platform is shifting the paradigm in data and technical education.
Julie shared the journey from WorldQuant University—a nonprofit offering free, accredited online degrees in Financial Engineering and certificates in Applied AI and Data Science—to the newly launched WorldQuant Learning, a separate entity with a clear mission: to close the gap between education and employment in high-demand technical fields.
The centerpiece of this mission is the WorldQuant Learning Skill Labs platform, a virtual lab platform designed to put real-world tools like Jupyter Notebooks, Python, R, Julia, and SQL into the hands of learners—while giving instructors full control over their content, seamless LMS integration, and automated grading. The platform is scalable, intuitive, and built with both instructors and learners in mind.
If you're in higher ed or workforce development and wondering how to modernize your programs without compromising on quality or control, this one’s worth a listen.
Teach technical skills like it's 2025—because the world won't wait for your curriculum to catch up.
